Hello everyone, couple quick questions.

I bought a 94 Pontiac Grand Prix a while ago, and the stock radio was removed from it and the prior wiring harness cut. Other than that, the car was a great deal.

I've got the original wiring harness from the car, but never got around to wiring it back up to the original wiring, as there are a few duplicate colored wires with no discernable markings to tell them apart.

I just decided to purchase an aftermarket deck for it, and would like to know how I should go about taking care of this.

So...

1) I've looked all over the internet for a wiring guide for that make, model, and year. I've found some generic GM guides, but these don't have all the multiple colors my wire setup has. Anyone have a wiring diagram for the car?

2) How do I tell the similarly colored wires apart? (There's a couple yellows, a couple light greens, a couple dark greens, etc.) I've heard of ways to test wires with a voltmeter and a battery, should I do that?

3) Should I even attempt to wire on the old brick, or just identify the wires and wire them straight to the new deck?

Thanks ahead of time!

You should restore the car back to the way it was if possible. Also, if they cut the harness too short, it may not be long enough to wire in your new radio.

This is why we ALWAYS ALWAYS tell people to buy a plug in harness, dont butcher those harnesses.

If you do not have an amplified system, you can take a 9 volt battery and touch the 2 leads together to it, it will "pop" the speaker when you touch the battery. When the speaker moves out, you will know you have the correct polarity.

Here are the wires I show for your car

+12V DC Battery(Constant) Orange 10 15 amp Fuse block
Switched Accessory Yellow 38 10 amp Fuse block
Ground Black/white

Steering Wheel Control Wire Lt.green & yellow Gray & black are for the interior lights; light green goes to radio pin 14 & yellow is accessory wire.
Left Front + Tan To the speaker & to the amplifier
