Hello,

Just got the Nissan Wiring harness for use with a 1996 Infiniti I30. I connected all the wires properly but no power came on (12V ignition red, Black ground, yellow 12v constant etc.) When I connected the 12V yellow constant to the 12V red ignition, it works but as you can imagine, resets every time it gets turned off.

I've installed several stereos in the past so this isn't new to me.

Plus is there supposed to be a popping sound every time you change tracks on a CD?

Any help would be great.

Check the fuses in your car, you may have blown a fuse.
The popping noises is related to your radio.

Is the constant wire getting 12 volts all the time?

If you have BOTH the red and yellow wire to the constant wire, you wont lose memory, the radio always will remember the stations since both wires always have power. You will have to manually switch off the radio if connected this way.

Can you check the red wire off the harness (the one that plugs into the car) and see if there is 12 volts coming out.

I decided the run the constant wire directly to the battery with an inline fuse and 20A fuse. This worked out fine. I think there must've been something wrong with the factory constant. Thanks for your help.

glad you found a solution. Check your fuses, there is usually 2 fuse boxes in Japanese vehicles.
