Default Installing cable for Audi 2001 A4 IPOD Box Aux Adapter #4603

I plugged in everything in beautifully, except, the cable is white, and I could not figure out how to run the cable from the trunk through to the front, by hiding it along the prewired corridors. I have no idea whether I can poke this white cable along the route where I see the 13pin cable is going to the front. It is too dark, and am afraid if I push this cable through , I might lose it in the prewired network heading out from the side of the inside of the car. Right now I have this white cable looking awful, because I lifted the left rear drivers side seat, and it comes through the bottom of the seat, along the floor to below the right drivers armrest. It looks terrible. I need to have it looking professional. Anyone that might know how to get this cable to install neatly so it is not visible, would be much appreciated

Did you purchase this from us?

That unit is designed to wire at the trunk and the cable which comes with it is not really designed to extend all the way to the front cabin (although it can be done). I do not believe it is long enough, if you did do it, attach some pictures so we can admire your work.

Thanks for making me laugh this morning. I don't think I will insult you by photographing my installation, because to me it is too much of a mickey mouse installation , and really there is nothing that would show up in the photo. Nothing to admire. Yes, I bought the unit from you. I unhinged the left rear seat (on the same side as the 13pin plug),brought the white cable (included in the package)through a crack (then folded back the seat),made sure there was enough white cable, and slack, and tucked it further under a little space in the seat.It then dips down on to the rear floor, and runs on the rear floor(covered by a black rubbermat) and ends up showing up a bit from just behind the drivers front arm rest to just under the arm rest, where I have my Ipod. Now that you have told me that I have used or setup incorrectly, could you , in your repy back to this email, indicate where this long white cord is supposed to used for. Is this whole setup supposed to say in your trunk? Including the Ipod? I was almost going to go over to Audi to show them this gizmo, and my setup. They have never heard of your product, and are looking forward to me showing it to them. Perhaps , before I do you can indicate back to me whether all should have been kept in my trunk, including the Ipod. I don't want to make a bufoon out of myself. Cheers

The box itself is universal, the cable is universal.

It is one box for several different type of vehicles. The cable is extended so it will be long enough to reach from the back of the radio location down to the center console area where most people may hold their ipods. (MOST applications at AT BEHIND the radio - since MOST cars have cd changer controls but NO PREWIRING)

I am thrilled that you got it to extend from the trunk to the front (we assumed it would not make it - we werent sure if the cable would be able to reach because normally a trunk to cabin run requires at least 20 feet). It was designed to house the ipod in the rear area near the trunk cd changer cable.

Thanks for the update. You can post the photos at http://photos.autotoys.com (free hosting) if you want to take some snapshots.

    Good work.
