Default Hard wiring a radar detector

Hi there folks, I was wondering what would be the best way to hard wire a Beltronics RX 65 radar detector to my car. Which wire would be the best one to tap into without causing any problems further down the road. Also from the radar detector how would I tell which one is positive and negative? Thanks guys.

What kind of car is this? Year make and model.

Does your cigarette lighter SHUT OFF with the car? Can you use the cigarette lighter plug with the car off?

Thats where I would tap for a power source.

    I recommend this

to tap the wires, the center terminal is probably the positive lead with the outside terminal being ground, I would TEST the wires first to confirm this.
