    Default Gm Gps Onstar

    i have a installation question. im wanting to know if i can tap into the GPS (from my onstar connection) to hookup a in dash navigation? please guide me as to what i need, if this is possible. i have an 08 chevy silverado LT. the only thing i dont have on it now is factory nav and/or bose.

    im wanting to install a pioneer avic-n2 or 3. also, can you guide me as too the dash kit and wiring kit(s) i will need?

    The factory GPS antenna is preconfigured and preran with a special connector. You will not be able to reuse it and get a good SNR (signal to noise ratio) and the connector will also probably be different. The antenna wire also cannot be extended or shortened without adversely affecting the SNR.

    Thank you for the quick prompt reply. although not the answer i was looking, i appreciate your opinion and experience answer. i had heard in some of the older model chevy trucks and suv's, some were tapping into the vehicle gps antenna, and wasnt sure if it could be done in this one.

    one last question, can you guide me as too what installation accessories im going to need to complete a in-dash nav/dvd install (ie. onstar, steering wheel controls.. etc). again its going into an 08 silverado LT. and ill be installing a pioneer avic-Z2.

    I assume this is a NON CLASSIC truck.

    For the steering wheel controls to a Pioneer radio. Plugs into the back

    PAC SWI-PS

    Dash kit for double din

    New 2007+ GM TRUCK DASH KIT

    2007+ GM antenna adapter required

    ON STAR adapter for TRUCKS with BOSE GMAHLANB

    ONSTAR ADAPTER for trucks WITHOUT BOSE

    ok, one last question....lol

    im wanting to install a factory gps/nav system (just cause i can get one really cheap, working for GM). anyways, i dont have the BOSE, is there any way around this? if so, do you carry the part(s) needed to do this?

    We do not sell parts or offer support for the installation of any factory parts, every car is different usually things are not as simple as it can be with aftermarket parts.
