What kind of cable are you using from the rca to the headphone jack, have you tried a different conversion cable. Sometimes the 3.5 to rca cables are pinned incorrectly and grounded incorrectly.

I don't know what my Customer # is, as this is my first purchase and I didn't receive this info in an e-mail, but here is my Invoice Info:
Date: 12-28-2007 03:42:03 PM
Item: PERIPHERAL MAZASX AUXILIARY INPUT ADAPTER [MAZDA 3, MAZDA 5, MAZDA 6) (CLON) #9805
As the Item description indicates, I purchased the Peripheral Adapter for the Mazda 3. The year of my car is 2004. I wanted to use this device to hookup my Zune 80.
When I received the item there were very few instructions. No troubleshooting advice or anything, so this is why I'm contacting this forum for help.
I unplugged my Mazda 3 factory stereo, attached the 16 pin head-unit aux harness to the back, then plugged the RCA adapter into the AUX 1 DIN port. Once the stereo was plugged back into the dash, I was able to receive a signal from my Zune to the receiver—it played music over the car speakers, as designed. The problem is with the quality of the playback. When the Zune device is unplugged I get a loud, rhythmic beeping noise. When I plug the Zune into the AUX port, the beeping becomes quieter and the rhythm changes, but it is still present. I tried using my PSP instead of the Zune, but I have the same problem. It does this regardless if the car us running or not. What do I need to do to fix this?
Here's a sample of the beeping when the device is unplugged (you might need to turn your speakers up): http://servemx.com/mazda/unplugged.mp3

Good question. I actually unplugged the cables all together, and the same problem occurred, but maybe I'll try a different set just to be sure.
I tried new RCA cables. No difference. I also noticed it doing something else now. When I'm driving happily along, putting up with the beeping, suddenly my music stops. But wait, it isn't my music, the stereo is blinking "No CD" while in EX mode. I turn off the radio and turn it back on, okay, the music is playing again. But wait, it happens two more times in the same day! ARRRGG! I paid over $100 for this? How do I return this stupid thing?
What year is your vehicle.

Mazda 3 s, 2004. I received a replacement (after paying shipping cost) and have the same problem. Beeping and it drops the connection until the car is restarted.
Do you have something in your car like a nextel or cellular phone which usually causes the noise.

Nope. I do have a cell phone, but I've forget my phone all the time and it still beeps on those days. I do also have a back massager, but I had it completely unplugged just to test, and it didn't make a diff. I guess the most frustrating thing is driving along and having my music drop, and I can't really turn the engine off and on at 60 MPH. If there was a way to fix the connection dropping, I'd tolerate the beeping.
Hello,
I do not know what else to suggest to you if we exchanged a new one. I would suggest playing the gain settings to lower the overall noise level and gains to perhaps getting a suitable signal to noise and also perhaps switching over to AUX 2 channel instead of using aux 1

Yeah, AUX2 has a quieter beep, so I'm currently using that. The gain controls don't lower the beeping, just the volume of the music. I'm really surprised no one else is having this issue, as I bought my car new and didn't do anything crazy to the stereo. Do you think weather is a factor? It's been cold in Minnesota.
Thanks for trying!![]()
