Question about charging iPod battery

I have a 2007 Honda Ridgeline RTL (no navigation) of which I recently installed the PXAMG Media Gateway (no HDRT). Everything works very well and it is lightyears ahead of the FM transmitter I was previously using. The only thing that I have noticed within the past few days is it does not seem to be keeping the iPod charged and it will also say "iPod Not connected" when turning the ignition of my truck after it has been off for an extended period of time. All other functions work fine. Both the PXAMG and my iPod are running the latest versions of their respective firmware.

Should I see the charging animation on the iPod when the radio or ignition is off and the iPod is still connected to the media gateway? Should it be continuously charging the iPod while in use?

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

I would first update your firmware and see if this fixes the problem.

Another option is to try another ipod and see if it charges, if it does not, you may have a faulty cable or a bad box. In which case, we can simply swap out the unit for a new one for you.
