Viper 5900 Remote Start Problems

I have the Viper Remote Start/Security System, the 5900 (1 mile range). I had it working with no problems at all. Its an 08 Nissan Pathfinder. It had an immobilizer also.

I got into a accident and had to have my whole computer reprogramed. They put the new key inside the imobilizer and all worked fine. At least I thought it did. Now occasinally, it has trouble starting with the remote start. Maybe 40 percent of the time It just tries to start but never does. I think I have come to the conclusion that the problem occurs when I am more than let's say 100 ft from the car that it has trouble starting but I am not confirmed that thats the reason. Any assistance would be great

I dont think the distance has anything to do with the immobilizer. They may have moved some ignition wires around when they took apart your dash, the ring of the immobilizer could have moved (depending on what type it is - if it is around the key cylinder), or you may need to have the immobilizer programmed again.

Note: Some of our immobilizers can be programmed just once. They will not learn new keys once they have been programmed.

When you say it won't learn new keys, but if it works some of the time and now others? I'll have to take it back to my guy and have him look at the wires again, maybe they disconnected one or left a wire loose. Let me know if you have any other ideas.

Probably something got loose or moved during your reprogramming.
