Hey so i have a 96 audi a4 and just got a cd player and want to put it in. It is brand new so i got all the wires and i got a wiring harness. i got a few different questions. The first is which wires do i need to splice rcas into to hook up to the back. i was told i had to do this because some of my speakers may be hooked up to a stock amp. i also found out which wires but theres a ton and i dont know which are which. in the wire set in my car there are 3 little blocks a blue a green and a yellow all snapped together. the blue they said was for my cd changer and i can just stick that out of the way (which i did), the yellow and the green i was told are my speaker wires that need to be spliced to rcas. i bought the recommended rca "kit" there are 4 (2 red and 2 white with 2 wires comming off each. i dont know what too hook up to them though. in the yellow and green blocks there are 9 wires and by my count the rcas have 8 so please let me know which to hook up. oh yea also the cars wires are way different colors then the rca cables. my second question is what to do with this odd brown wire that was connected to my stock cd player. it is a brown thin wire with a thick black cloth coating over it and the end was flat and slid onto a flat angled connector in the back. not sure what to do with that. and finally the wiring harness i bought to connect to my car and wire to the cd player wires has 2 brown wires that say mute but the cd player has only i brown wire that says mute. how do i choose which one to connect. would this have anything to do with that other odd brown wire. i know my stock cd player was car phone ready or something so could that be one of the mute wires as well. hopefully you can answer these odd questions.. thanks i just want music.
