Default Power Window Module for 2 windows

I have purchased a power window module for my 2001 Ford explorer Sport. After reading the wiring diagram I can not figure out which wires to tap into. Coming out of the module are 8 wires, the red(+12 volts) and the black(ground) are pretty obvious. The orange(500ma. activation) I am not sure what that goes to. The blue and the brown that goes to the right motor and switch and the green and white goes to the left motor and switch. After looking at the wiring diagram that I got off a website, on the switch wires there are two wires for window up(LF=red/yellow,RF=tan/blue) and two wires for window down(LF=yellow/red,RF=white/yellow) and then off the LF motor is a yellow/red and red to the circuit breaker and RF motor is a yellow/red to the motor and red/yellow to the circuit breaker. I was looking for any info on which ones to tap into and if this module can be hooked up to one side(drivers side switches) or have to be hooked up to both doors(switches and motors). Any help would be great. The power window module model is#313

The orange(500ma. activation) I am not sure what that goes to.

This goes to your aftermarket alarm, STARTER KILL OUTPUT, ground which rolls up the windows

This is how to find out which wires you need

at the switch, get a test light or multimeter

With the wires UNCUT, test the wires

Each wire will show 12 volts when you hit a switch

    DRIVER UP
    DRIVER DOWN
    PASSENGER UP
    PASSENGER DOWN

    Label these wires

Now cut EACH wire ONE BY ONE

after you cut it, test again each end

ONLY ONE SIDE will show 12 volts when you press the appropriate switch. This is the SWITCH SIDE. Wire it to the module as labeled. Then wire the other side to the MOTOR SIDE

Repeat this for all the wires

Well I followed your directions and found the right wires. But, I still am having problems getting the unit to work. On my Power window control module #313 there are 8 wires.
Pink: To Accessory item(which I don't know what it hooks up to)
    Green: Left Motor
    White: Left Switch
Orange: 500mA. Activation (which in your previous reply, you said this wire goes to aftermarket alarm[which I don't have], STARTER KILL Output, ground which rolls up the windows.
With my Explorer, I only have factory keyless entry and a keypad on the drivers door. Will this window module work with a factory keyless entry?
    Black: Ground
    Blue: Right Motor
    Brown: Right switch

When I pulled off the wire harness for the switches for the power windows, both driver's and passenger, I found seven wires.
    Black: Ground
    White/Yellow: Driver's Up
    Tan/Blue: Driver's Down
    Tan/Blue: Passenger's Up
    White/Yellow: Passenger's Down
    Blue/Black: 12+ Fuse Panel On

Here is one thing I don't understand, the Driver's up and the Passenger's up are hooked up to what wire on the module?
Same with the Driver's Down and Passenger's Down?
Since I don't have a aftermarket alarm, the orange activation wire gets hooked up to factory disarm wire?
I also pulled the door panel to see how many wires go to the motor, which are a red wire and a yellow wire that, when hook up to a continunity meter, the red is the driver's up wire and the yellow is the driver's down wire.
So, I am a little confused. and thanks for the help

Which power window module did you buy?

If it is a 2 window module, it will only roll it UP -or- DOWN, but not both. Only the automation module will do both up and down.

If you want to test the module, you can ground the activation wire to ground and the module should ROLL UP if you have the wires hooked up to UP

You should be hooking it up to the UP WIRES, PASSENGER UP and DRIVER UP only if you have the 2 window module.

Hello, the power window module is found here, http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=313
It is suppose to be a 2 window module.
I did hook up the module and the windows would roll up and down with the window switch, but not the controller. This window module didn't really come with any instructions other than a very basic wiring diagram. Is there a certain sequence of button pushes on the remote or something like that. Thank you.

If you wired it for UP and DOWN, you have it wired it incorrectly.

It is either UP or DOWN

Not both since it is a 2 window controller. Are you going to roll it up or down?

If for up, you will wire only the DRIVER SIDE UP wire and PASSENGER side UP wire. Thats it.

Ok I followed all your instructions (Thank You Again) and the got the wires for the power window module all hooked up and set to roll the windows up. After hooking up all the wires, expect for the pink wire which is to accessory item(which I have no clue what that goes to). Once I hook up the orange wire to a ground and the windows roll up, but after I roll them down and hit the lock button on my keyless entry, the windows don't roll up. So I need your info once more and after that, I am at a loss with this item.

If it is a factory system, it wont have an output to send to the module.

You can build a relay system which will send a signal when

    the

    1. doors are locked (each time)
    and
    2. when the cars are lock

at which time the windows will roll up

Ok well that clears a lot up. I thought the module was bad. Is there a schematic to build this relay system? They should have it on the webpage that you can purchase these items that they will not work with a factory system.

    Hi

The unit works with an unit with an aux out put only.

As for the relay system, it can be attacked 2 ways.

One, you can TEST the STARTER wire in your car (ask us, we can provide you with the wire color) of your car, you will need a meter. You will need to test to see if the starter wire turns to GROUND after you shut off the car. Then a relay has to be interfaced to this.

    Or

You can built a relay system that will send a ground when the door locks send a LOCK signal. You will also then build a relay system that will shut off this first relay when the car is on and/or also when the inside doorlocks are pressed. This will prevent it from rolling up the windows when the car is on and if you hit the lock switch inside the car or on the transmitters.

We can help design the system, tell you which wire needs to wire to what (12 volt), etc, but you will need to make connections. There will be some wires to connect

Let us know if you wish to proceed.
