Default Iphone 4.0 and Ios4.0 upgrade IPOD adapter compatibility

IOS4.0 upgrade is the new upgrade for Iphones and Ipods to the new 4.0 operating system
Iphone 4.0 is the new iphone 4 (new design)

It is impossible for us to predict new advances by Apple on their products and how it will affect older Ipod adapters and how their software affects Ipod adapters currently on the market. We can plan for future products, but if there are any incompatibility issues, we encourage you to contact apple directly and let them hear your voice. There has been instances where factory car adapters dont work, aftermarket units have issues. This are changes apple made to their hardware and software.

The following products are listed as TESTED and compatible with Iphone 4.0 and Iphone IOS4.0

We will POST more info (see ALL THE THREADS) as updates and more information comes in, so please read this entire thread

I have an isimple gateway installed on my acura tl 2004
it works fine for iphone 3gs but doesnt work for iphone 4 (not iphone iOS 4). The message :this accessories not supported by iphone" keep popping up and it wont let me charge or connect to the phone.
I came accross the ReVolt™ (IS710) which is compatible as the post stated above and it is simple plug and play to my current GATEWAY 11 FOOT IPOD CABLE. Before ordering i just want to make sure that im heading to the right direction. Can anyone confirm if this works for iphone 4
    Thanks

    PIE CURRENT NEWS

    iPhone 4 and iOS4 Compatibility

Do you have any interfaces that will work with the new iPhone 4 or new iOS4 installed on older iPhones?

We are currently testing the iPhone 4, and so far we see all positive results. Additionally, we found that a "Track Forward" function is possible when listening to Pandora. When we finish testing there will be an official release.
The following parts have been tested and found to work with iOS4 installed on the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 2nd & 3rd generation:
    • AV-IPD
    • RCA-IPD
    • HON03-POD/S
    • GM2L-POD/S
    • FRD04-POD/S
    • GM12-POD/S
    • GMLAN-POD/S
    • TOY03-POD/S
    • All versions of POD2 interfaces
There is a new nag screen that now appears with the iPhones using iOS4 that says "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone." This is the same as the other nag screen in that it is annoying but doesn't affect operation.

This spring, my husband and I had a PXAMG installed in our 2005 Acura TSX w/nav to use with our iPhones. The phone plugs into an Acura-specific iSimple cable, which in turn plugs into a Peripheral cable. We used it successfully with our iPhone 3G and 3GS; we did get a message similar to the one now being reported by people ("this device not compatible"), but clicked Okay and ignored it and everything worked fine. Then we both upgraded our iPhone 3s to iOS4, and had not problems; we didn't notice any difference at all. But then a couple of weeks ago I got an iPhone 4, and it doesn't work at all. I don't even get as far as getting an error message because the phone doesn't even recognize that it's plugged into the PXAMG. My husband's iPhone 3GS continues to work fine.

It's not likely due to a defect in my iPhone 4, because Apple replaced my first iPhone 4 (don't get me started) and both experienced the exact same problem with the PXAMG. Also, I have essentially the same problem with a fairly new Belkin charger and with an older iPod docking cable, both of which work fine for my husband's iPhone 3. The iPhone 4 doesn't even recognize the iPod charger (just like the PXAMG), and when it's plugged into the Belkin charger, for the first second the phone registers that it's plugged in, but then immediately loses the connection and indicates that it's running on battery power; I can only get it to charge by very firmly holding the Belkin plug in the iPhone 4 port.

Sounds to me like Apple has made a subtle hardware change in the iPhone 4's port, in which case paying to have the new PXAMG w/the updated chip installed wouldn't solve my problem. Is it instead possible that the software issue is for some reason causing my iPhone 4 not to register the existence of the PXAMG at all, rather than getting an error message? Has anyone else experienced any problems like this?

It is an software issue restricting the pxamg to work.

This will happen if you upgrade from ios3.0 to 4.0 or use the new iphone 4

Buying the new i4.0 os chip will fix this issue.
