Default Audi A6 2002 AUX DMX V1.B stuck at CDC1 LOAD

I am a customer, but cannot find anything called a "Customer ID".

    My order number was xxxx.

This was a AUX adapter for an AUDI A6 2002 (Symphony radio with 6-disc in dash).

After install, radio and in-dash CD work OK. Pushing CD button again gives "CDC1 Load", then after approx 20 secs reverts to playing CD in the in-dash unit.

So your device is apparently recognized as a CDC, but not quite understood.

NOTE: I cannot power cycle the radio since I do not have the code (car is recent purchase, came without radio manual). I chose this device because all available info pre-purchase indicated power-cycle and code would NOT be needed.
Info I can now see only after purchasing suggests this is no longer the case, and the device is no use to me, and I will need to return it. I would prefer to get it working, but not at cost of bricking the whole sound system.

You need to initialize the radio, no way around it. Also, you need to ground the wire off the adapter.

Just wrote long and useful response. Forum software dropped it.

Gist: For Audi radio codes, call Audi USA at 1-800-822-2834 (NOT a dealer). Fast friendly and free.
Need VIN and the 14 digit number printed in white on radio metalwork (not on a paper label).
LET OTHERS KNOW THIS, will save much grief.

Unplugged other 2 connectors on radio for several minutes. Came back up (without asking for code!) First push of CD button played a CD from in-dash changer. Second push of CD button (bad instructions; there is no CDC or Mode button on this radio) gave CDC1 track 99 and played from my aux in. So success so far!

Any hints as to where to shove unit and connectors so radio will go back in? And how to route wire to center console? Your pix show result, but not method of removing trim or routing wire.

You may want to see this

and be careful not to do this when pushing it in

This happened when one of our customers didnt properly "prep" the harness and kept JAMMING the radio back into the dashboard. We recommend you prep the adapter, and put it off to the top, or the side of the dash, while having someone hold the radio, and then slowly feed the wire into the open areas, as you replace the radio into the dash

Thank you for posting the info on how to retrieve your radio code, I am sure other users of this forum have encountered the same dilemma. Enjoy your new Audi Aux Interface.
