Default Speakers and remote amplifiers for 2004 Honda Odyssey

I am ready to change out the speakers in my 2004 Honda Odyssey that I have recently purchased. It has the dual-entertainment system head unit with the overhead screen for the rear passengers and the separate DVD player in the console. I do not want to mess with the entertainment system but would like a little more volume to go with the substantial increase in quality I'm going to get with new speakers. I believe I read elsewhere that I need four 6.5 in speakers to replace the junk in the front doors and rear panels. I can also see two small grills on the dash...are these higher-frequency drivers? What would you suggest in a very economical speaker? Should I get baffles for them, also?

How do I get a little more volume out of each of the four speakers without messing with the head unit? I suppose I could get a low-power 2-channel amp for the rear speakers; running the wires from one side to the other would be relatively easy. Where could I tap for 12V power?

Thanks for your attention and responses.

I think you saw our article on changing speakers in an Odyssey. We originated it, and everyone followed out steps

    See http://www.autotoys.com/New_Tech/DIY...eakers_lts.htm

The speakers you need WITHOUT amplifier are here

    http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=18522

    You will need 2 sets

To plug it in,you can use plug in speaker adapters

    FOUND HERE

    They come in pairs
    http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=1007

so you will need a QTY of 2

As for baffles, not really needed, but we do sell them

    See http://www.autotoys.com/x/_search.php?page=1&q=baffles

If you were to amplify anything, I would amplify the speakers closest to your ears, the front speakers.

The new speakers are already more efficient- so they will sound louder and clearer,

    Small amp?

    See http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=4593

You can pull power for this right at the radio location
